So what's MarketSense all about? Well, it starts with our people and a culture of creative problem-solving. It’s sharpened by our leadership — a variety of perspectives with a single vision. And it results in decades of relentlessly creating value for our clients, many of whom are happy to tell you about it.

20+ Years of Service

1988

TriTech Marketing Inc. founded by Andrew Mahler and Peter Wroblewski as a B2B marketing services company.

Business plan developed in Pete’s suburban basement; first office “space” was Andy’s apartment. (This was when a mobile phone was actually a 12lb. bag phone.)

1989

First direct mail and database project for Zierick Manufacturing, a circuit board connector manufacturing company on the East Coast.

Implemented ACCPAC Accounting system to move off of spreadsheets.

Hired our first employee. (Celebrated at Portillos with beers and Italian beef sandwiches.)

1990
Leased our first office space in Westmont, Ill. (3,500 sq. ft.). Lead generation, lead management and PR. (Very proud of our new teal green office furniture, which matched our teal-green logo.)

1991
Launched a telemarketing set of services. (Yes...we might have been the guys calling you for information after your lunch hour.)

1992
Installed our first company-wide project management software system to track client work and schedule resources. (No more fist fights in the morning scheduling meetings to get client work done.)

1993
Opened West Coast and East Coast offices to meet growing demands of clients in those areas. (Remember, this was before e-mail and online collaboration tools existed.)

1994
Leased another 2,500 sq. ft. in Westmont for growth. (Celebrated with more beers and Italian beef.)

1995

Built our first Web site and all our clients quickly followed.

Replaced our shared modems with our first "not so broadband" ISDN. (Remember working at the close-to-warp speed of 128K?)

1997
Launched our first e-mail blast service. (Remember when you thought it was cool to have someone send you an e-mail?)

1998

Outgrew Westmont space; designed and built 12,000 sq. ft. of office space at 618 Commerce St. in Burr Ridge, Ill.

Hit 100 clients on our roster as we moved in. (We actually wanted to bring the teal furniture with us...go figure.)

1999

Expanded our sales support services to include bulk fulfillment.

Processed thousands of leads each month for customers.

Everyone excited over purchase of our first forklift truck for the growing warehouse.

2000

Launched our first extensive database-driven Web application for Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) with their Registry — an online collectors’ forum. This was the beginning of an extensive software development organization within the company.

Creative "nerds" invaded our space.

2001
Consolidated West Coast and East Coast offices back into Illinois office as we found availability and ease of Web-based tools made it extremely easy to communicate with customers. (Pete and Andy lost their road warrior status and became Webex fan club members.)

2003

Renamed the company MarketSense.

New tagline, Marketing Solutions Intelligently Applied, strongly reflected the value our clients were feeling. (And man, it was good to get rid of the teal logo.)

2004
Developed a powerful brand strategy process with new Creative Director, Tom Barg: The Persuasive Process. (Tom brought us to a whole new level of cool.)

2005

Rapidly outgrew Commerce Street facility as we tripled our head count.

Turned the old warehouse into the new creative department space.

Leased additional spaces for software development and sales support teams.

…Everyone fought over where the old teal furniture would go.

2007
First viral campaign launched: Johngrayman.com. (Remember when we all thought Facebook might just be a fad?)

2008

Launched internal employee Advisory Council to help us continue to attract and retain the best employees. Celebrated with company-wide ice cream party (although we were thinking about those beers and beef sandwiches.)

Reached our 200th client.

2009

Purchased a 68,000 sq. ft. facility and merged the entire company back into one space.

Uncovered some old teal furniture and made a memorial conference room with it.

Listed among BtoB Magazine’s Top Agencies for the fourth year in a row.

Won 20th award for creative work from BMA Pro-Comm and Tower industry events.

FrontlinePerspectives.com blog went live.

2010

Launched sister company MarketEffect, focusing on services for Sales and Marketing Empowerment.

Updated MarketSense brand strategy to "Create: Loyal Customers."

…And teal came back as an "in" color — who knew?
